In Response To: Strip: Guillemot handling - please help (JJ Atkinson)

A small skeg is a viable option. A wedge shaped piece of wood about 18" long and 1.5" tall at the back end will provide a significant increase in the tracking.

: My question is this, is there anything that will help keep her moving in a
: straight line, ie: adding a small skeg? Or is it simply a matter of
: spending more time in the boat and becoming a better paddler?

: I was in a rental kayak (my Guilly L is not even close to done yet), and it
: tracked way too well, kind of like trying to turn a aircraft carrier :) I
: was experiencing a similar problem to her, but not nearly as bad.

: Thanks for any advice.

: JJ
