From one old-timer to another; your wood sizes are worthy of the Big Mo'.
You can choose from a number of plans with that style of construction by good ol' Percy Blandsford. They are sold by Clark Craft in Buffalo for about $30 a piece. Blandsford's designs go back to at least the 1950's but they are servicable designs and probably have been built in greater numbers than all other SOF's combined. Even the great George Dyson admits to building one when he was a kid.
Most of Blandsford's designs are in the 35-40 lb.range and use 3/8 in.plywood frames except one which had bent ribs. He even designed a little folder.
Here's Clark Craft's address;

Put away your Medicare card. You won't get a hernia with any of Percy's designs.
Good luck.

: I would like to build a Folbot Aleut size SOF non folder. I am thinking
: 3/4" plywood frames and the clearest strip lumber I can find locally-
: seems to be 1 1/2"x 3/4 or 5/8" moulding strips at local home
: depot. What is your all opinion on using that for my stringers and keel ?
: I am 5'9", 170 #, since I'm 69 lighter is better. Just for
: recreational paddling.
: I welcome all input here or email.
