I assume the boat is bare epoxy (no varnish etc) I've used many brands over the years and never encountered that. Normally blush is transparent. If you pull your finger on the epoxy, you can see a mark just like it had wax on it. That's what blush looks like.

What kind of epoxy, and what's the water like where you paddled?

You can always try calling the epoxy manufacturer. What you experienced is not the norm.
