Thanks Dave. Yes, the two arms are for steering. They are Black Walnut which is extremely rigid and tough. It would take a lot to break them off. I don't like footpedals so my idea is for a hand control; probably a 1/4" rope that extends along the inside perimeter of the cockpit (remember, this is for the open-deck tandem). The arms are long like that in order to "gear-down" the steering sensitivity. I haven't finalized anything yet though; we'll see how it goes.
