In Response To: Material: Supplier for Ash wood (Mike Rury)

: Well, i've been to 5 local lumberyards, one home depot, and one lowe's... and
: nobody has any ash wood (the guy at home depot said, "Never heard of
: it"...).

: Anybody have any online suppliers of wood that I could get a couple of planks
: from? the ash will be used for the stems, and maybe for the coaming lip.

I purchased a mess of 1/16" ash veneer from http://www.certainlywood.com for coaming, stem/stern and rib laminations. That's the dimension you'd have to rip the stuff down to for coaming laminations, anyway.

If you can't find ash, use oak
