Mania still happened. Lot of fears about smokers (and we did burn down an outhouse one year so even non-smokers are a danger there) but no problems. About 200 people and great music.
We are watching another fire start right now with smoke billowing up in huge clouds. Looks to be south of Elko. Visibility was about two miles earlier but it has cleared off now. The Lamb Creek fire is visable from Cranbrook and everyone south of city limits is on notice. It has gone from 3,000 hectares to 59 sq. km. in just a few days. Kelowna remains the big one. Talked to a friend there today and they could not see the lake from their office -- about 1/2 mile and a third of the city has been evacuated.
