I had the same question when I started to join the deck and hull on my Cirrus and I emailed Vaclav. He said to put an epoxy putty fillet on the hull/deck joint. See page 12, figure 3 of the instruction book. Clearly shows a fillet but I did not see it until Vaclav pointed it out. I had a tough time making the fillet up toward the bow and stern. I am a big guy and could only get my arm into the hatch opening. I wound up working from the cockpit using a 60cc syringe filled with epoxy putty mounted on a long stick. I then pushed the plunger with another stick followed by shaping with a plastic spoon fastened to a stick. The fillets turned out OK but not pretty. I am now varnishing and hope to get in the water this weekend.
This is my first kayak and it had been a lot of fun building it. My wife, however, wants her garage back!
