: JW,
: I just finished the hull on my first guillemot and it really has a pronounced
: skeg/pinched keel for the last 2 feet. I used 5/8 strips and a heat gun so
: I had good results keeping the strips on the forms in that area. I am
: wondering if folks are having a hard time making that designed skeg
: portion? If not (I thought it was kinda hard)does everyone find the boat
: still needs more skeg? And if adding more skeg does that kill the boats
: ability to be more playful/manueverable in waves?

Congradulations. I too am just about finished with the G17 hull.
I used the bump on end forms above form 15 to extend the pinched keel shape a bit with the two keel strips over forms 14 to 15.
I also plan to add some ash stem strips. I will probably add a small bump to the stern stem strip between forms 11 and 14. This will hopefully be something like on the Marineer site.
Rumor has it that a certain paddler recommends adding a small keel strip to the stern of the Guillemot. I hope to have "certain paddler" test my boat in the fall when it is ready and I will get back to the group with the results.
