Thanx, The rack is just 7/8" thick strut for the cross arms, 1 5/8" for the uprights. I used a base foot on each upright to secure to the trailer. A strut strap for 1 1/4" thinwall conduit secures the upright to the trailer end tubes. Basic bolts and angle braces hold it together, although, once I settle on a setup, I will probably weld it.
It's removeable with three bolts on each end. The bunks are pressure treated wood with minicell foam liners. They bolt to the crossarms with perf angle.

By the way, I picked up a 20 foot length of 'strut at the job, shook it a little, It seems to be rather bendy. I think that if I were to use it for a strongback, I would secure it to horses or a bench. FWIW.
