Grant: On-topic, I love custom-placed solid bulkheads. Both of mine have been 6mm plywood--4mm would work with glass on both sides and good, solid glass fillets--especially on the bow side of the bulkhead. Most people use minicel, but I was just working on a friend's boat tonight, and she's been using blue extruded polystyrene foam, and it seems to have held up well. Adjustment is only important if you think you'll be loaning the boat out.

Oh, and for your record-setting post, you win a dried chip brush with linseed oil on it, some scraps of tarred seining twine, and two bags of shavings created in the paddle carving process.
