: I saw in the book that Nick used Fiberglass yarn around the coming edge.
: Where can you find it? Does Newfound sell it? I am just going to put a
: fillet around it and glass over that. I just wanted something more
: translucent or transparent
: Any suggestions?
Jamey:
I bought some fg roving (something like 24oz cloth). I had to buy it in a three yard bundle; it was about $14. The yarns on this stuff are about 1/8" thick. It was easy to pull the strands because they're so thick. I used it not only on he coaming, but in my hatch lips as well (fillet around the sacrificial gasket). It doesn't wet out as clear as regular cloth, but I'm so bad at matching the color of my fillets that I decided to go this way.
Whatever you do, good luck!
