I would think it is a seller's market - not many become available.
A guy in the UK is selling an 18'6" White Guide open canoe and asking
UKP 1300 (under $2000). I recently bought a 17' Royalex Mad River open
boat for more than that, so I would consider the stripper a real bargain
at that asking price (the builder has built several boats, and this is
a recent one).

My guess is that for a stripper, you would be ripping yourself off if
it looked as good as most first-time strippers and you sold it for less
than twice as much as a comparable commercial fibreglass boat costs in
your area. For an S+G maybe times and a half a fibreglass yak if it is
finished bright, or maybe a bit less if it is painted.

I tend to agree with your other respondents that it probably ought to be
worth more to you than to any buyer who is not close to you. I certainly
wouldn't sell my first boat (not that I'd have that option, as I built it
for my daughter:). Nor would I sell my second, even though I have another
kayak which copes better in rough seas, and I'm intending to build myself
another for expeditions. If I was really stuck for storage space, I'd sell
the commercial boat I first bought...
