Yes, there is some possibility. A nicely climate controlled room maintained at 72°F with velvet covered racks would probably be better for your boat. But if you can keep the sun off and generally keep it pretty dry, a boat stored outside should last for years. Cover it in such a way that air can circulate so it won't mildew. Rinsing with freshwater before storing is a good idea for any boat.
