I passed a spry young girl clinging to her shell after she fell off of it into the water. I presented myself as a potential knight in shining epoxy and braced her shell so she could climb back into it. Paul J. and I headed off as she rested and got roughly 150 meters downstream before she shyly passed us. I commented to her that it was nice to see her on top of the thing instead of swimming beside it. I only cried because I wasn't single and a member of the rowing club.
