: John,

: Good to hear from you!
: I've been wondering how you've been making out with that fancy boat!
: How are you progressing with it? Are you fancy inlays working out as you had
: hoped?
: I launched my Baidarka this spring, have done lot's of paddling in it, and am
: very pleased with the boat. It will be interesting to hear how your new
: ride compares to your shorter boat.

: Take care.

Hi Ken,

Good to hear from you also. It's been a while. I remember you were building an SS and I was looking for your posts to see what how you came out but never found any after I came back to the board. I glad you like the SS so much. I love my Little Auk type kayak and the side safty compartments I built in but I would like to have some speed also. The two boats will be an interisting contrast to each other.

You may remember I cut over 1500 pieces for the inlays and I do have them on the stern but I was scared to do the whole gunnel with them since it would be like a bunch of egg shells glued together in an area that should be quite strong so I chickened out. Maybe I can use them somewhere else.

Take care,
John
