Minimum Weight Rules = Struer

I'm not exactly sure. I know that minimum weight didn't always exist and the process for setting it was very political. Apparently 26lbs is about the lower limit of a wood boat. Wooden boat builder Struer who was a heavy hitter on the Olympic/ICF world for so many years got the minimum raised to stay in business. Now Struer has fallen upon hard times. I don't think their web site exists any more but they built really nice boats.
