Bert VanRoy and Don Beale had a few problems with similar coamings delaminating under the hot sun at SSTIKS. I don't believe either of their coamings were glassed. Joe Greenley helped them get the boats back in the water with some clamps and quick cure epoxy.

Glass is a good thing, post-curing epoxy isn't bad, either.

: That's how I did it. It wasn't that hard either. I made the first laminates a
: little long, then cut them off and butted the next laminates up to them.
: It's not a hard thing to do and I think it looks good that way.

: I did it a similar way on my sons kayak. I laminated the lip just past the
: place where the arrow was to go through it, cut the laminate, and glued
: woodstrips in a fwd/aft direction to match the arrow.
