: I'm building a Storm since last fall (got a little delayed by moving and
: such). The plans are very good, as is the building book and the customer
: support. I'm not close to the water with it yet. But Jim Kozel has built
: one, and praises its handling in choppy conditions.
Yep, it's a good'ern in choppy conditions. I just acquired a used Mariner II, and I'd have to say the Storm and Mariner II are very comparable. I'm relatively new to kayaking and just started paddling Lake Erie this summer. I've had the Storm out in confused chop/boat wake stuff where it's coming at you from every direction. The Storm felt very solid to me, and fellow paddlers have noted how stable I appear in the Storm. Simply a great boat. I've found Vaclav's model descriptions to be spot on with regards to the Storm and the Cirrus.
