I have been asked to cut a hatch big enough for my do to sit in. shees small about 30 lbs and 15 inches high.

I was thinking of cutting a hatch right in front of the cockpit but still in the area around my feet. where the dog could sit with her head out between my legs.

I have never been in a kayak before, so i have a few questions.

1: does the guillemot roll over easy?
2: is this idea stupid?
3: has anybody eles done this?
4: would the hatch be better behind the cockpit?
5: is there enough room.
