: Hey!

: I played around with that idea for my boat, but in the end I chickened out
: and put in more normal bulkheads with hatches in them. How well does it
: work ? Is there anything in the boat to register the location when it's
: shoved in, or does it just 'cork' in there? How thick, wide, etc. is the
: seal?

: Sorry to hammer you with questions. If I hear that this really is a workable
: idea, I may go for it on the next boat.

they work quite well but were a lot of work to get them to fit as perfect as possible. the aft bulkhead has stops behind it top and bottom. the forward one just "corks" in. the bulkheads themselves are left over strips from the boat, 3/16 thick. the seal is self adhesive neoprene, 1/4 thick by one inch wide. i centered it on the edge of the bulkhead and rolled it over onto both sides.
