i was concerned about this very thing with one yak in progress (multitude of 1/8" strips). so i cut/stripped the kayak deck/sheer around the pattern to a more achievable location. it will (may) 'key' the yak together, and that join line may not end up very perfect, but at least the pattern will be continuous. lesser of 2 evils.
if the pattern strips are large, it may be ok, tho'
