My first GP from very nice kiln dried WRC was 23 ounces after I oiled it. It's an ounce lighter than my carbon fiber wing paddle. Go figure. I maybe should have left a little more meat along the length of the blade but you get the idea. They're so light, I committed myself and my wife to use them exclusively for kayaking so I'll reserve my wing for racing surfskis. With that kind of weight, I'll figure it out just to save our shoulders. She's a beginner anyway so I'm counting on her not knowing anything else. Besides, I can $ave a bunch even if I build us a whole quiver.
