: has anybody ever feathered a greenland paddle by steaming the shaft and
: twisting it? good or bad idea?

I don't think it's a bad idea, but it may be a difficult one to bring to fruition. Not knowing, off hand, what the standard angles are for feathered blades, but you would have to over-bend to get your angle when released from whatever clamping devise used.
Plus ( and a big plus ) you would also have to achieve all or most of the twist in the loom itself or not too much past, into the blade. That would be the really tough part I think.
The thought has also crossed my mind, and I have another idea that may or may not work either. ??
I would give it a whirl and see what you can come up with.. Interesting project.
