Grant,

Yeah, I find that I place my hand somewhat forward of the cheek plates to support it while it's resting on my shoulder.

I found, as well, that moving the seat fore and aft had a significant affect on trim. It took a few trips before I got it nailed. I attached my "Grande seat pad (Newfound) with velcro) so I could move it around a bit. The velcro works so good I haven't glued it down permanently yet. Probably won't. I'd be happy to measure the exact location of the seat forward of station 10 if you'd like.
