: Pretty incredible piece of work there Robert.
: It's come a long way. I doubt that most folks would have had the gumption to
: even start something like that.
: It's taking shape very well. You doubling up the joints where all the patches
: and little fixits are?? After such a break and all the damage in the
: center section, are you worried about any longitudinal weakening...??
: I've done a few model-airplanes this way.. ( an idication of my piloting
: skills ) and they worked very well, but this is something else...
: Ya know.... I think I'd just finish this one bright... and clear.
: Patches comes to mind as a "Handle".
: Best of luck on your target date.
: GREAT JOB!!!

Hey, Rhed
THe patches are all overlaid with 6 oz. glass, I'm not worried about them. I am sure that the kevlar lining the cockpit will keep the longitudinal stresses at bay. The deck will be completely redone with 4 oz. glass overlaid on the old stuff. The hull is fairly strong . In fact, just to show how strong it is, I popped into the garage, propped the hull on supports and stood in the center of the cockpit. The hull was very strong. I posted a picture so ya can all see. "Patches", huh! How about "Pruden's Patch"?
Why don't I put it out there and have you guys try to think up a name for the rebuild. The prize for the winning name will be to paddle the rebuild at the river location of choice. Any takers?
