The greenland paddle does take a bit to get used to it. I started using one when my shoulder was bothering me and I was determined to learn more about them. There are many different styles that behave differently. Some flutter very bad and others have almost none. There are also some styles that scull much better than others. I was fortunate to have the opertunity to take a couple classes from Greg Stamer. One tip that helped me out was to think about the top hand pushing forward and down. This seemed to give me better control. I have one hand that seems to have a smoother and stronger stroke than the other hand. Practice helps to develope a better stroke. This will help the tracking. The paddle is held on an angle (top forward) to reduce flutter and give a strong bite in the water. If you get the chance to take a class on greenland paddleing it will be very helpful. Give it time and stick with it, there is a lot you can learn by using one. It's all paddleing fun.
