It is true that a boat without deck lines is slick as a greased pig in the water. In some cases the boats you may be looking at might not be done, but I know I have gone with the aesthetic choice. It is hard to cover all the nice wood with nylon lines. But if you are truly interested in a boat to use and are serious about safety, you should include something to grab hold of. This doesn't necessarily need to be a full perimeter line around the whole boat, but some thing to grab every few feet is a good idea.
: ...several
: strippers with absolutely no deck rigging. While this turns a beautiful
: boat into an elegant work of art is there a trade off on the safety side.
: For instance, what the heck do you grab hold of for a wet entry? Certainly
: not that highly varnished/wet/now slick deck! Or if you can own something
: this beautiful have you reached the plateau where you never have to worry
: about that? Just wondering.
