He violated the "Don't become a second victim." rule. Sounds like he ignored warnings, wasn't prepared with the right equipment, no back up help for him, PFD not fixed right, etc.

Tragic but avoidable.

It is hard not to plunge right into a rescue, but we also have responsiblities to ourselves, our families and friends who may be left without us or with a damage person to care for.

Be careful and knowledgable, well equipped and thotful. Randy
