In Response To: Strip: Sheer strip on 14' Great Auk Trouble (Bruce)
Bruce:
I had the same situation on my Great Auk. I kept looking at it trying to figure out how to make it work and even e-mailed Nick to see if I had missed something. I ended up rolling the bevel (shaving the inner lower edge) on the deck to the point that the strip was almost triangular, leaving the top edge laying nearly horizontal. The next strip in from the sheer on both sides meets the sheer on a nearly flat plane. It is hard to conceptualize, but it works and avoids most of the torsion you are now trying to contemplate.
Regards,
Marcel
