: Got a varnishing question, I still got some time before I have to do it but,
: I’ve been seeing different methods to varnishing. Using a rage to wipe it
: on, a sprayer or, foam brush. I’m not shore what to use. I’ve been going
: back and forth deciding. I just want to get that mirror glass finish. All
: so dose it get buffed after the final coat?
: john...
Put the first 2 coats on with a foam brush. That builds up a base which by itself will be the minimum
If you feel the need to improve on the looks at that point then sand lightly and put on another 2 coats with a rag.
Varnish can take a week or more to achieve maximum hardness. You don't want to try to buff it before then, or it may just smear. After a week of two of waiting for the varnish to dry you may decide you don't need to buff it.
Once the varnish has hardened for a while you might want to put on a light coat of wax and buff that.
