CLC designs use a cambered deck that is tortured to curve up at the bow. I cannot imagine trying to bent 4mm ply to that tight radius and holding it place with wire stitches. If you want a one-piece deck you need sheer clamps. CLC claims their cambered decks are stronger and look better but there are a lot of good-looking S&G decked kayaks out there that are holding together. I think its just a mater of personal choice.
