If you can afford it and have the room, look into 8" models or the long bed 6" Powermatic. The longer bed makes a difference in jointing longer boards used for strip building. For shorter length boards, it may not make much difference. If you can get an 8" for the same price of a 6", I'd definitely go that route. I don't think you will regret it.

Crass marketing plug...I still have my Delta 6" bench top jointer that I'd be willing to sell for a good price to anyone interested.
