I feel your right... Its the featherboard AFTER the cuter that keeps the end of the strip from being chewed as it moves when it is no longer being pinned in place by the featherboard, but still being cut by the routerbit.
I could see my last inch of most strips be eaten away as the first 1/3 of the strip started to bow down toward the floor after it cleared my table extentions.
The front end bowed down, making the back end pop up as it cleared the featherboards & was now an inch less useable.
