All right, I am starting to build my S&G Merganser, and I have a nice design planned for the deck. I would like to use Minwax water-based stains, but I wonder if anyone out there has any input on how well the color will hold up in the sun. I've searched through the board both here and at CLC's forum, but have only found anecdotal posts. If someone has actually used the stuff on their boat, and has at least a year or so of paddling time to see if there has been any fading, I would really appreciate your input.
I've also seen a few notes about incompatability with epoxy, but as many say it works well as otherwise.
