Hey all. Well, my Outer Island was launched, albiet unintentionally. It got it's first taste of salt water last Thursday, in my garage, while still in two halves - both fully glassed. But, it floats, and when the flooding receeded, the boat was still there!
Hurricane Isabel beat me to the punch and launched it for me. As a result, I'm naming the boat "Isabel", since she launched it, and otherwise spared it from damage.
Helluva storm, and the after affects still are... I'm still without power, and estmates are that my neigborhood won't get it for possibly another two weeks (I'm at a makeshift office now - my regular workplace is also without power). Repairs will be taking place for months and months. I'll spare the details since this is a boat building forum, but the gist of it is that we've been declared a Disaster Area by FEMA, so you imagine what's going on around here.
Ah well... life continues. Count your blessings and move on. Needless to say, it will be weeks before I do any more work on the OI, but at least I won't be starting over.
I've got just enough time to post this... haven't read a post since last Wednesday, so I hope all is well with you folks and your boat building process.
