: Hey all. Well, my Outer Island was launched, albiet unintentionally. It got
: it's first taste of salt water last Thursday, in my garage, while still in
: two halves - both fully glassed. But, it floats, and when the flooding
: receeded, the boat was still there!

: Hurricane Isabel beat me to the punch and launched it for me. As a result,
: I'm naming the boat "Isabel", since she launched it, and
: otherwise spared it from damage.

: Helluva storm, and the after affects still are... I'm still without power,
: and estmates are that my neigborhood won't get it for possibly another two
: weeks (I'm at a makeshift office now - my regular workplace is also
: without power). Repairs will be taking place for months and months. I'll
: spare the details since this is a boat building forum, but the gist of it
: is that we've been declared a Disaster Area by FEMA, so you imagine what's
: going on around here.

: Ah well... life continues. Count your blessings and move on. Needless to say,
: it will be weeks before I do any more work on the OI, but at least I won't
: be starting over.

: I've got just enough time to post this... haven't read a post since last
: Wednesday, so I hope all is well with you folks and your boat building

I heard there was some nutty guys out in the surf in their kayaks. Sounds like a rought ride.
