What can I say? I like to have a pretty good seam before I fillet...say no more open than 1/16"...but sometimes I goof and it'll be more. We're not building a piano here...nor something that will sit in the Smithsonian's section of superiour craftsmanship...well, except maybe for Nick. Cut it to fit, wire it up, fair it, fillet it, round it off, and fiberglass it. The rounding of the outside edge (and the rounding of the fillet) are mostly so the fiberglass will flow smoothly around the edges...and for looks. Do the best you can...it will be beautiful...and VERY strong.
