I just wanted to say thanks to all of the people that offered their ideas and for the link on the clc web site for the shop tips.

Not to beat a dead horse but one final question:

When Nick or any designer uses a marine cad program for designing the lines initially the lines are just a wire frame to get the shape and the mechanics that they are looking for. At some point these wire frames must be transposed to plans to make the plywood pieces.

I know this is getting really picky but when you join the keel panels where is the theoretical knife edge keel?

If it is on the outside and I add a fillet to the outside and then round the fillet this would seem to match the design.

If on the other hand I bevel the panels making an outside knife edge don't I change the original design slightly if I then round off the plywood panels for the fiberglass?

I suspect the differences are only very slight and you would probably never notice any performance difference but I just wonder which way fits the theoretical keel the best.
