In Response To: Paddle: Greenland paddle SITE (Lary)

I have made two greenland paddles and they are great. I wacked the first one out with a rasp and finished it off with a belt sander. Technically it was rough as guts, but worked out the nicest of the two to hold (for some reason). By the time I started on the second one I had a spoke shave and it made a much nicer job so the second paddle looks better. I have to admit that I went over the first paddle with the spokeshave and trimmed it up a touch.

I still would have finished both off with sandpaper and random orbital. So ant the end of the day, no one tool is the answer. But the spokeshave does help.

Cheers Pete
