Try a Workmate

In Response To: Paddle Horse (Paul Jacob)

They're ideal for clamping items with long tapers on them. When working on a paddle, I clamp one blade in the Workmate and rest the one I'm working on an adjustable rest (a roller rest with a towel clamped around it for padding). To make the Workmate more stable, I use a 5 gallon bucket full of sand as a weight.
