Driving home from a week in the Queen Charlottes ( see trip board) we found that a hatch cover was missing . the bow hatch of a Great Auk. I doubt that it will ever be found and I'm not about to re trace the journey of 17 hrs...

Lesson learned --- always hook up a tether of some sort.!!

So now a new one must be made. Hard to make the strips look like the old ones so I think I'll use similar but different wood and out line the outer edge of the new hatch with a contrasting thin border. ??

Any body have any ideas to make a new hatch that would look good.??
