I did a "Sorta" copy of Don's "Paddle-Horse" a few weeks ago after asking for a picture of his.

I did not add the angled sides, but want to make up something to drop onto the top that will work as well.

It's turned out to be a real help with the paddles. My first is on there in this picture... 60" long for one of the Grandkids.

My full arsenal of tools is on the shelf, with the exception of the bandsaw.
Mine is also 7' long and approx. 38" tall. The rail is approx. 2 1/2" wide and I used more clamping holes in case I decided to do shorter paddles.

I can't find my picture of Don's Paddle-Horse, but it is a bit more "Multi-Tasking" than mine.... I hadn't planed on doing tons of paddles and using the power-tools.
