A bimmer or a real Mini? The real Mini is another of the 10' cars [bimmer Mini is almost 12'] but it is very squat [53" - bimmer at 55" high] with a longish flat roof [bimmer is rounded] - an extremely stable (and fun to drive) car. The bimmers are HUGE, I tell ya!

Anyway, I do see and understand the circus aspect of things - people often tell me that they expected a clown to get out of my car (I just don't understand it - see pic)! And... It'd be difficult for me to put a roof rack on it! I'd have to do a some pretty serious Bakering to rig something up And then, well, my car isn't as stable as a Mini - I don't think that I'd trust it with my kayak on the roof!

Hmm. Well, we'd have to analyze this a bit more closely... It'd require quite a bit of engineering to get the rack right and then, well, how/where would you sectionalize? Right in the middle would seem to work best for the car (you couldn't fit 3 sections in the width of the roof) but might be somewhat problematic in terms of attaching/detaching/watertightness... Hmm. Tongue and groove, using that gel stuff that divers use to make a seal... Tabs with the bolt holes - say 5 or 6 of them... It might work...
