Have to agree with Rob on making a big distinction between what we do personally vs. posting on-line what we do personally with the implication that others should/could do it as well. What we do personally only has repercussions to us personally (and those who love us personally). What we post on a forum may carry a weight of authority that we don't intend it to. Especially if the poster has the reputation of an experienced builder. While we are all personally responsible for what we do ourselves, I wouldn't want to be the one to have given unsafe advice to someone who took it and then got hurt. I don't need the bad karma. I've done things with a circular saw that I shouldn't have. I now have a table saw that is far safer if for no other reason than I always know where the blade is and it stays put without my help.
