suspect from your post that your woodworking experience is more extensive than mine therefore would expect you to be even more qualified to build a SOF than I was.

Personally I haven't finished my SOF but am about 2/3 's of the way there. Have finished my ribs and am about to install the stringers. So most of the hard work (except maybe for skinning ) is behind me.

I bought the two books you mentioned and also bought the Mark Starr book. Found having three references helpful. I did infact look at all three each step of the way. When you have a question (which inevitably you will) you go back and read one or all of the books and try to puzzle it out. If you stay with it long enough you will find the answer. And of course then there is always this forum and the Greenland forum on which there are numerous questions and advice given on SOF construction. I did find by regularly tuning into these two bulletin boards I often had the question answered before I encountered the problem.

so in summary. Yes those two books give you everything you need.
