Scott,

Good points. I almost said something, then didn't feel comfortable, and realized I hadn't had my morning Coke. :)

Thanks for posting the picture of the padde. I'm considering a 'Eurospoon' and was whining to myself about not having a bandsaw. Thanks for the inspiration.

I found the whole power tool saftey thing (as distinguished from the saftey thing in general) amusing since the last two tool-human negative interactions (fsck-ups) were pure hand tool. Both saws, one push, one pull. I tend to be more attentive around power tools. That loud noise tends to remind you that they can shred you. It's the quiet tools that will mess you up. :)

For me, the biggest take home message posted here by everyone, is "THINK". I knew when I built the circular saw 'table saw' I used to rip my stock, that it wasn't one of the safest things I had ever done. So I mounted it on top, with sufficient forward and reaf clearand that I would save to WORK to get my fingers near the blade, and feed stock so that if it kicks back it will head out the garage (into the cars... hmmm, need to think about that. :) )

Sorry for the ramble. Good luck to you and your wife.

Aaron
