Hi Patsy

I saw a post once that described drilling a couple of holes in the pvc c clamp and inserting dowels in them. The dowels become handles a bit like in spring clamps - it's kind of hard to describe. The dowels would give you more leverage to make the clamps easier to open. I'll do some searches and see if I can find a decent description (I do remember seeing a photo of some as well).
