Hi Dan,
I get my WRC in Muncie,IN at Menards. I checked out a 30 mile radius of my home and this was by far the best supply I found. I got all the wood I needed for my first boat for around $38 and have $45 in the boat I am building now with wood left over. They usually have good supplies but I go through the stacks looking for the best pieces. Still you are going to have to butt splice some but the price is right. Pine is also cheap and in supply. And half the time it is on sale. I have been there when the racks were stuffed with wood and other time they weren’t so full. But if you get a chance go to Union City on the IN-Ohio Border and ask anyone where Miller’s lumber is located. They have a large show room loaded with hardwoods from around the world. And they sell kiln dried pieces and boards of local hardwoods like walnut, cherry elm, oak, etc for 50 cents a pound that are in the show room These can be small pieces to boards 8 ft long. You feel like you are a kid in a candy store.
