1.they hurt
2.they chip easily
3.chipped glass/wood soaks up water
4.repairing things take time
5.they hurt
6.in rough water they can puncture people
7.in rough water they can puncture other boats
8.they hurt
9.if you carry your kayak and bump into people they hurt
10.if you carry your kayak and bump into hard things they chip
11.if you practice hip snaps with someone and they fall onto your pointy bow the get to poke their head.
12.if you practice rolls with someone and spot them while paddling quickly towards their boat it would be nice to not puncture their boat or them in the excitement.
13.if you are walking through your garage at night and your kayak is on the floor it hurts to walk into a point.
14.it's dangerous
15.and hurts
16. why retain a sharp point?
