Hi Matt, I am at the same point. I started with a pretty good board but then resawed it/laminated it to get a better grain orientation... but then it was a little catty-whompus. I shaved off the obvious high spots with a bench plane. That got it pretty close.

My plan is to set the centerlines perfect and lay everything out from those. I marked the lines by setting my tri-square ruler midway on each face and used it to guide my pencil an equal distance in from each edge - for the entire length. That gave me an okay centerline but it still wasn't perfect. I setup a fishing line last night; I'll measure all my cut lines off that.

It looks pretty good so far. And, if it looks good then it probably is good
